Now she’s conquered the music, movie and TV worlds, Miley Cyrus wants to get into our closets too.

The Hannah Montana star is teaming up with designer Max Azria to create a range of affordable fashion for US retail giant Walmart.

Her designs will include tops, pants, graphic t-shirts, shoes and accessories — and nothing will cost more than $20.

Miley Tweeted the announcement on Wednesday, telling followers, "I love creating looks that are all about personal expression and individuality. Collaborating with Max Azria has been an amazing experience, and I'm really excited about launching this line with Walmart. There's even more to come!"

Her clothes will hit Walmart’s rails in August.

Let’s hope her creations are more coordinated than this disaster from a few years back…

Hudson and Rodriguez getting serious?
June 3, 2009 at 12:11 pm

Kate Hudson’s rumored relationship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez is apparently heating up — the New York Yankees third baseman has allegedly started introducing the actress to his best friends.

The Almost Famous star (above, enjoying the house beverage at the 2nd Annual Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic last weekend) has been linked to Rodriguez for the last few weeks, and has been spotted in the crowd at recent Yankee games, evidently cheering the embattled A-Rod on.

Insiders say the couple is about to make their romance public; Hudson has allegedly introduced Rodriguez to her five-year-old son, Ryder.  A source told People, “It’s somewhat serious.  He introduced her to a bunch of his friends.”

Rodriguez was previously linked to Madonna around the time of her split with director Guy Ritchie, though both parties denied a relationship; Hudson, who shares Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson, recently split from on-again off-again boyfriend Owen Wilson.

We don’t know what to think of the pairing, provided we believe it’s real, which we’re not sure we do — Rodriguez is a great player, but he’s neurotic AND boring, not to mention a kerfuffle magnet.  Hudson’s role in Wilson’s recent emotional troubles is unclear, but her ability to make one cookie-cutter, vanilla, third-place-box-office rom-com after another is undisputed.  So now that we think about it, they’re kind of perfect for each other: pretty, vaguely annoying, and unlucky in love.  Buena suerte, kids!

Denzel says he's "too old" to play Obama

Philadelphia’s Denzel Washington, the presumptive favorite to play U.S. president Barack Obama on film, has actually ceded the role to someone else, claiming that he’ll be “too old” for the role come the day.

The Oscar winner would love to play Obama in a movie, but Washington, 54, is afraid it will be years before the 47-year-old president’s bio makes it to the big screen — and Washington admits that a younger actor would work better for the part when that bio is eventually produced.

Washington also says he couldn’t depict Obama today, because the prexy has bigger things to worry about than coaching him on the portrayal: “When Obama’s story is ready to be told I’ll be too old to do it. And if it were made now, he has too much to do to have me asking for tips on how to play him.”

We applaud Washington’s healthy perspective, but it’s still kind of disappointing, for us as well as for Washington.  Washington’s remake of The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 hits theaters next Friday.

Littlest Geldof victim of biggest heels (and pints)

Pixie Geldof left London’s Bungalow 8 nightclub at about 3:30 AM local time Wednesday morning; our photographers reported that her friends surrounded her and tried to keep snappers from getting Geldof’s picture.

With good reason: Geldof had on a pair of what looked like eight-inch platforms, and as you can see in the pic above, cocktails likely affected her balance a bit too (the Daily Mail reported that Geldof face-planted on her way into the club).

So…how's the old career going there, Wilmer Valderrama?

That 70’s Show’s Wilmer Valderrama spent his Tuesday at the Licensing  International Expo 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  At first we ID’d his puffy friend here as Bob the Builder, but it’s actually the Disney Channel’s Handy Manny, whom we suspect is the “flying disc” to Bob’s Frisbee, if you know what we mean — and the whole thing seems like the faintly sad equivalent of modeling on a revolving platform at a car show.  Didn’t Valderrama just score an indie movie with Jason Ritter, and have karaoke night with Rihanna?  Shouldn’t his smile look a little less like a thin veneer over a magma lake of despair?

Double your Baldwins, double your fun on I'm a Celebrity

TV vet Daniel Baldwin of Homicide: Life on the Street is heading to Costa Rica to replace fragile newlyweds Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Baldwin will join brother Stephen as a castmember following the departure of Montag and Pratt on Monday night shortly after the show’s first airing.

The Hills stars quit, then unquit, then quit again several times as a result of the hardship conditions on the show’s jungle set, and the sickening challenges they faced — the couple couldn’t cope with teammates Patty Blagojevich and actor Lou Diamond Phillips had to eat a tarantula (and we kind of can’t believe we’re saying this, because it’s sympathetic to Montag and Pratt, but we HATE spiders and that’s about where we’d have quit too).

Tired of the drama in that regard, NBC execs quickly replaced the prats — er, “the Pratts” by pairing Daniel Baldwin with his younger sibling Stephen, according to DailyFill.com, and sources say a second replacement is in the works.  Baldwin’s been on reality TV before; he appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2008.

[Update, 9 AM EDT: Baldwin's publicist now denies these rumors to Radar Online, saying the casting is "news to" him.]
