As curious restaurant staff failed to disguise their gawkery, supercouple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (he’s the second ear from the right, above) left Michelangelo restaurant in Antibes, France. They’re in town for the Cannes film fest, where Pitt is attending the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, and it’s nice to know Pitt has enough scratch to take Jolie out for a meal after dropping $600,000 on Drury University in Pitt’s hometown of Springfield, Missouri. Pitt and his brother Doug made the generous donation in order to help Drury’s O’Reilly Family Event Center go greener — the new low-flow water fixtures, recycling area, and solar-reflective roof, among other measures, will earn the building a Gold Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design (LEED) certification, the first such arena in the U.S. to land the eco-friendly title. To thank the brothers, Drury will rename the court in the arena after the Pitts’ father: “William A Pitt Court.” And for our part, we’ll try a little harder to remember our recyclable totes when we go grocery shopping. |
