Not one to remain idle, 92-year-old Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas takes center stage in Before I Forget, his brand-new, intimate one-man show in which he reflects on his remarkable life and iconic career. ET was at opening night, which became a family affair with wife Anne in attendance along with son Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, who both flew in for the occasion. "When you're 92 and you can't speak or you have an impediment in your speech, what do you do? A one man show!" he muses to ET. "So here I am. I never wanted to be a movie actor. I always wanted to be a star on the stage. Now I found out how you can become a star of the stage: you build your own theater." "I wish I had words to explain what it means for a 92-year-old man to stand up and do an hour-and-a-half show on his own, and understanding the nerves involved, and work," said Michael. "It's awe-inspiring, and really inspirational, and a real sense of immortality, and hopefully there will be a few laughs." |
