Nick Jonas Launches New Contest
April 14, 2009 at 6:10 pm

Nick Jonas has announced a contest through which kids and teens with diabetes can win the chance to meet him!

The youngest member of the Jonas Brothers trio has teamed up with Bayer Diabetes Care to launch the "Express Your Simple Win Creativity Contest," an online video contest where kids and teens ages 6-18 can submit short videos about their "Simple Wins"-- small everyday victories for managing diabetes. The personal video submission can be a visual demonstration of original song lyrics, photography, painting/drawing, acting or another form of creativity.

"With this contest, I hope people are inspired by others' entries, as well as encouraged to submit and share their own, but most of all, I hope that everyone has fun with it," says Nick, who has type 1 diabetes. "Diabetes can be hard to live with, but when you manage it well, you can still do the things you love most in the world."

April 14, 2009 at 2:30 pm

Here comes the star: The late George Harrison's Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney, his widow Olivia and major celebs such as Tom Hanks celebrated the unveiling of George's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday.

Joining McCartney and Hanks at the ceremony were Harrison's Traveling Wilburys cohorts Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, and Monty Python funnyman Eric Idle. The legendary guitarist's son Dhani was also there.

Harrison penned Beatles classics such as Here Comes the Sun and Something, as well as the solo hits My Sweet Lord, What is Life and Cheer Down. He passed away of lung cancer in 2001 at the age of 58.
