Sure, Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus will be teaming up for the charity single "Pass It On," but the teen stars and former flames also got together for lunch over the weekend in Los Angeles.

Jonas and Cyrus were seen leaving the Village Idiot restaurant in Hollywood, according to , which also has video footage of a little fender bender the couple were involved in on their way out.

In the clip, the stars get into Jonas' Mustang Cobra in an alley. The car turns onto the street, scraping an SUV in the process. Despite apparently knocking off part of the other vehicle's bumper, Jonas keeps driving.

The pair dated a couple years back, and Miley admitted last year that their breakup left her in a "weird funk." Still, she's never been shy to talk about how much she cared and still cares for Nick. In fact, she once said that even though their breakup left her devastated, she'd still be open for a reunion. "Maybe he'll be my best friend for the rest of my life," she told Seventeen magazine at the time, "or maybe I'll end up marrying Nick Jonas!" Currently, Miley, who also called Nick her "Prince Charming" in her book, "Miles to Go," is dating model/musician Justin Gaston.

Since his split with Miley, Nick has been romantically linked to both Selena Gomez and Jordan Pruitt, although he has never confirmed relationships with either of the Disney stars. He did tell Barbara Walters, however, that much like Miley, he hasn't closed the door on a romantic reunion: "I think it really comes down to a good friendship and whatever that has in the future."

Madonna Not Giving Up On Malawi Adoption

Singer's bid to adopt a 3-year-old girl was rejected by a judge earlier this month.

Despite having her bid to adopt a 3-year-old girl from the African nation of Malawi blocked by a judge earlier this month, Madonna plans to continue pursuing the adoption.

CNN reports that in an e-mail statement to The Nation, a Malawian newspaper, the 50-year-old singer made a case for why the adoption of Chifundo "Mercy" James would be good for the country, which has spawned more than 1 million orphans due to the AIDS crisis.

"I want to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment and the best education and health care possible," Madonna said in the letter to the paper. "And it's my hope that she, like [Madonna's adopted Malawian child] David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country."

Madonna's lawyer has filed an appeal in her adoption bid, which was blocked on April 3 when a judge ruled that the world-famous pop star had not fulfilled the requirement that a prospective adoptive parent spend 18 months in the country before an adoption is completed. The judge in the adoption case, Justice E.J. Chombo, wrote in her ruling that she had a "gripping temptation" to approve it, but decided against allowing the adoption because she feared it might open the doors to child trafficking.

"Anyone could come to Malawi and quickly arrange for an adoption that might have grave consequences on the very children that the law seeks to protect," Justice Chombo wrote in her ruling.

In 2006, when Madonna adopted David Banda from Malawi, the singer faced criticism from some adoption-rights groups that she had been given preferential treatment and not been made to follow the traditional foreign-adoption rules. A number of human-rights groups had similarly protested the attempted adoption of Mercy, alleging that Madonna was trying to work around the residency laws for foreigners.

"Though I have been advised that I cannot publicly discuss the pending appeal regarding my desire to adopt Mercy, I do want to say how much I appreciate the level of support that I have received from the people of Malawi and my friends around the world," Madonna said in her statement.

Malawian government officials have supported the singer's bid to adopt another child from their country.

Obamas Get A New Dog, And A Visit From Fergie

Forget the crumbling economy and those scary Somali pirates. The big presidential decision everyone has been waiting for since Barack Obama took office was finally resolved over the weekend, when the first family welcomed Bo the Portuguese water dog to the White House.

According to TMZ, Sasha and Malia finally got their dog on Saturday, but not before the eagerly awaited unveiling almost turned into a controversy. While the Washington Post had been promised dibs on the feel-good story, TMZ tried to spoil the surprise by breaking the news over the weekend, despite the Obamas' plan to keep the news under wraps until Tuesday.

The 6-month-old curly-haired black-and-white dog, who arrived with a colorful Hawaiian lei around his neck, was obtained from the same Texas kennel that bred Senator Ted Kennedy's three dogs, according to the Post. Bo — originally known as Amigo's New Hope, then Charlie — was born in October, and even before the breeders had any inkling that the Obamas would be in the market for a White House pup, they named the litter the "Hope and Change Litter," out of their affection for the Democratic candidate.

The Obama girls first met the dog several weeks ago, when it was brought to Washington for a brief visit to see if the adoption would work out.

And, less than a week after the White House hosted what's believe to be the first ever Passover seder, the Obama's are breaking with tradition again on Monday (April 13) by spicing up the guest list for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The event, which traditionally has a relatively staid group of guests, will feature performances from Black Eyed Peas' Fergie and reggae star Ziggy Marley, readings from Josh Duhamel and a handful of sports stars, including soccer player Julie Foudy, basketball player Renee Brown and football player Derrick Dockery.

The Associated Press reported that the 30,000 attendees will also get some sports tips from basketball players Marissa Coleman and Nikki Blue and soccer stars Brianna Scurry and Abby Wambach.

Green Day's 'Know Your Enemy' Video: Exclusive Behind-The-Scenes Footage

It looks like director Mathew Cullen wasn't kidding when he said that, aside from Green Day, "there isn't another single person" featured in their upcoming "Know Your Enemy" video.

Because judging from the exclusive behind-the-scenes footage we've gotten our hands on, there isn't anyone else in the "Enemy" video — which will premiere April 24 on more than 250 MTV on-air and online outlets worldwide — except for some flames. Well, producer Butch Vig can be seen milling around in the background for about one second.

But since the 24th is still a ways away, we decided to give you a sneak peek at the making of "Know Your Enemy," which was shot in downtown Los Angeles in late March. Check out Green Day rocking out, catching fire and wearing what Cullen described as "timeless" Mod-inspired getups. Aside from all that, the rare mega-huge video puts the music front and center. And that was a decision that was as much Cullen's as it was the band's.

"They're an incredible group — one of the biggest bands in the world, and one of the most significant. So I had this idea of keeping it simple, of letting the music guide the video, and I didn't know how they'd take it," Cullen told MTV News. "As it turns out, they were into it. Because despite being one of the hugest bands in the world, they're also one of the most trusting and collaborative. So that made my job easy."

Green Day's "Know Your Enemy" video will premiere April 24 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV, MTV2, MTV Hits, VH1, The N and MTV Networks' HD channel, Palladia — plus MTV and VH1's international channels — in addition to MTV.com and VH1.com.

Nas Calls For Unity In Hip-Hop: Mixtape Monday

Plus: Saigon, Statik Selektah make album in a day; Crooked I gets serious.

Independent Album: All in a Day's Work

411: Twenty-four hours to live? Nah, 24 hours to create. The musical vibe between Statik Selektah and Saigon was so potent, they made an entire album in one day — the aptly titled All in a Day's Work.

"This ain't my real album that everybody is waiting for," Sai clarified, distinguishing this project from his long-awaited Just Blaze-produced project, Greatest Story Never Told. "This is just a project I did with a up-and-coming dude, Statik Selektah. I know a lot of people heard of him. He's from the Bean. We came in to do a song for 'Grand Theft Auto.' We just vibed and clicked. Next thing you know, we had six, seven songs done.

"First I was like, 'Let's do an EP,' " Sai continued. "Then we got up to eight songs. I was like, 'Two more, you've got an album.' This is the first time somebody has put together an album in a day and put it out in a week.  It was top three on the hip-hop charts on iTunes. We put it out all digital. I'm trying to get people accustomed to buying my music digitally ahead of time. I got ratings higher than dudes with real albums."

Saigon said that for the most part, he wrote the songs right there on the spot, but for a couple of records he got his Dr. Frankenstein on, taking a verse he already had in his book and piecing it together with another one he had lying around.

"What really inspired me with Statik was that East Coast feel that's been gone away for long," Gon told. "He brought me back to the hip-hop that I grew up on — that whole Wu-Tang era, the slow samples, the sped-up samples. Everything started flowing from there."

Saigon's album with Just Blaze still doesn't have a label, but the two are still working. "We just keep upgrading and upgrading," he said. "We're trying to keep it up to par. I don't have a home for it because hip-hop is going through a transitional phase. I put a lot of work into it, so I just don't want to throw it out there and it don't get the support it deserves. I'm just waiting, that's why I did All in a Day's Work."

Saigon's next mixtape, Warning Shots 2, is due in July.

Joints To Check For:

» "Lady Sings the Blues."  "I liked the sample," Saigon said about the track. "It sounded like she was sad. I took away from the sadness and added my element to it. I think the record came out hot. The worst thing I did to a woman to make her sing the blues was I f---ed my girlfriend's aunt. The aunt was young, the aunt was poppin.' My girl was saying, 'My aunt wants to meet you. She's a fan.' I was expecting it to be a regular aunt. The aunt is usually older.  I met her aunt, she was hot. The aunt threw me the wink, I slipped her the number. It went down from there. I confessed [to my] girl. I can't lie too good. I'm a bad liar.

"I said, 'I'm gonna do a few tracks for the ladies [on this album],' " he added. "I did a breakup song called 'Lose Her.' If you don't want your girl no more, just lose her. Get rid of her. Just play the song for her and she'll get the message."

» "The Rules." "We snatched up the sample from [Busta Rhymes'] 'Woo Hah!! [Got You All in Check]' on there," Sai explained.  "It's talking about nowadays in hip-hop, you don't have to pay no dues to shine. Like I said, a lot of dudes come in on other dudes' backs and they get thrown right in the spotlight. When we came up, you had to grind. Even if you knew somebody, you had to prove yourself as being dope. You couldn't come out with one dope verse and people say, 'He's that next dude.' My number one rule when it comes to life is probably treat people how you want to be treated. Respect everybody, try your best to be positive and righteous."

» "The Reason." "I'm talking about how the game flipped over from it being about talent to guys just chasing the ladies," the Yardfather said. "I think hip-hop is reflective of life. It used to be a time when females used to try and follow what we did. Now it's like vice versa. When dudes go in the studio, they're thinking, 'What are the girls gonna like?' Even to the point where men are wearing purses and tight pants. Like we're almost morphing into females. I feel sorry for the generation after us. I know it's stylish and all that, but where are the warriors? Where's the next generation of young strong men? We're gonna miss that if we don't keep it the way it's supposed to be."

The Streets Is Talking: News & Notes From The Underground

Nas!!! Rocking that Mets gear, repping for Queens. Esco is about to go on tour and put out an album with Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley called Distant Relatives in June. Meanwhile, the QB rap legend is sounding masterful on guest appearances such as Rick Ross' "Usual Suspects" and Jadakiss' "What If."

On the Jadakiss record, Nas raps, "What if I was just another corny rapper?/ What if I went first instead of Notorious?/ Who would tell my story after?" It's both a morbid and provocative question. We asked Nas to answer it himself.

"You never know [who would talk about my legacy]," he said in L.A. during the Rock the Bells press conference. "That's why we make a song like that."

Nas also said that he and Marley picked their album title because "we're all related. We're all in the human family. We gotta act like family sometimes. It's good to acknowledge your family. It's a crazy world out here. Sometimes it gets separated, it gets segregated. We gotta remember what this is about." ...

After coming within an eye-blink of death, Crooked I says he has renewed sense of urgency to put out music, and the material has to have deep messages. So much so, it seems plans for the group LP featuring Crooked, Glasses Malone and Bishop Lamont have been put on hold.

"We were going to do that," Crooked recently told MTV News of the project. "There are some things going on with that right now."

The project, named No Country for Old Men, was supposed to take aim at some West Coast legends whom the trio felt were trying to thwart the rise of up-and-coming talent such as themselves.

"You've got people like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre. You've got all these people on the West Coast," he began to explain. "The 'Men' stands for 'mentality': No country for this old mentality. We don't want to deal with this mentality that says we can't like each other, we can't unify. That's why I like the South, because the South unites.

"Whether they feel each other or not, I see them on the video together. I see them on songs together. I see huge stars reaching back into the community of newcomers and pulling them up. You don't see that on the West Coast. It's because of the Crip and Blood mentality.  Growing up with the gangbanger mentality, I cannot like you and never had met you. You live over here and I don't like you. It's easy to bring that mentality into the industry. They're like, 'I'm not messing with that dude.' Why don't you? It would help your business. We look at the O.G.s in the industry like you laid down the foundation, now we're left here stranded and we don't have no country."

"There's a lot of blocking that was going on," Crooked said of some elder West Coast MCs. "The new West movement was fed up. We're trying to wake them up."

Despite the sour feelings, Crooked said that after assailants tried to shoot him a couple of weeks ago, he wants to go in a completely different direction.

"After this stuff, man, I've been really thinking. That [album is] cool. That's something that needs to be said. But right now ... I've been in these [life-threatening] situations before. Last time I was in this situation, my brother got shot. You can only cheat death but so many times.  Old people say you get three signs and you're outta here. I'm working on my fourth or fifth sign. I'm like, 'If I die tomorrow, I'm gonna say some real things today.'

"My focus now is if Ice Cube, Snoop, Dre, none of them dudes wanna reach down and help the new dudes, that's fine. Maybe I'll call them and have a healthy conversation about it and move on. I'm not in that zone no more. I want to leave a body of work behind that matches a Biggie or Pac. God is good. If I would have laid on that pavement and stayed there — no disrespect because I love Bishop and Glasses — but all I would have is No Country as my most recent body of work. I can't go out like that right now. Right now I need to focus on something that's gonna be around forever."
